The spreadsheets mimic the functionality of the BC Ministry of Forests SiteTools package.  There are two versions:
  1. With macros.  Contains user defined functions, requiring a medium security setting and accepting to enable macros.  Recommended if you have administrator permissions for this. The user defined functions are available for use in other applications.
  2. No macros.  No security setting requirements.  Use this if you are not allowed to run unsigned macros.  Because of tricky iteration programming this version may be somewhat less robust, it fails to compute some extreme entries, and there are minor cosmetic issues.
Instructions are included in the first spreadsheet page.

The software runs with Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher, and with recent versions of LibreOffice or OpenOffice. The user defined functions appear under the category "SiteSheets" in Excel 2010, under "Used Defined" in older Excel versions, and are not listed but available in LibreOffice or OpenOffice.

Tip: To estimate the site index for a particular stand, go to the table of Site Index by Age and Height, and type the stand values in the first (green) entries for age and height.
